How to turn personal hotspot on iphone 5
The iPhone 5 running iOS 6 has the ability of being turned into a hotspot. There is a shortcut on the main menu screen that lets you turn the hotspot on without having to go through the more difficult menu which would require going through many different screens to get to that point.
To turn on the hotspot you will first tap on settings, and then go to general.
You will then choose cellular and next to where it says personal hotspot, you will swipe your finger to change it from the off position to on.
If your wifi is not on, you will be prompted to use hotspot via either Bluetooth and USB or with ‘Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi’. You can then input a wifi password and this can be changed at anytime using the password field. You can then share your connection over a wifi connection. After setting this up once, a shortcut is placed on your general settings menu so you are not required to follow so many steps each time you wish to activate the hotspot.
Your iPhone is now working as a router so other wireless device like ipadcan connect to the internet using the iPhone. Any wifi ready device can now connect, however, using the iPhone as your wireless access point uses the data at a much faster rate.
